The Aussie media's opinion...
"He's had the most dreadful luck of any top golfer in the history of the game"... is how the Channel 9 news tackled the 'he choked' viewpoint. I can't wait for the Olympics...
at least they're consistant though, I was watching the australia v new zealand rugby on saturday morning, and if featured some of the most awesomely bias commentary I've ever come across. It culminated in the absolute slaughtering of one of he kiwi subs, with both commentators screaming his name and laughing as he missed a tackle for the last try. It's not a win unless you can howl in your opponents face at the point of victory. Just ask Dave
True dat. It's getting quite mad round here - for the past couple of weeks I've been noticing digital clocks counting down days, hours, minutes, seconds and I thought it was a Pope thing (they had one for him building up to his arrival) until he'd gone home. I only recently realised it's more or less a "10 days and counting until the medals start rolling in and we are once again cast in the golden glow of Olympic success, the rest of the world looking on in staggered awe." It's a given here that massive success will be draped in green and gold, the expectation is intense. It was national news when it was announced that they'd been placed near the end of the opening procession meaning the nation would have to stay up late to see their heroes walking behind the flag.
